Turnquist Goes to State

On the 16th, 17th and 18th of February, the State wrestling tournament took place in Fargo, North Dakota at the Fargodome. This year, the Alexander Wrestling Team sent the first wrestler in quite a long time. That wrestler was Carlton Turnquist. He had a very hard time at state this year. While wrestling in a match, he had to forfeit due to medical reasons. It turned out he had tore a ligament in his pinky while wrestling. He said it was a good experience and that it was fun. Carlton did not place at state because of a medical forfeit. His coaches were Casey Lynn and Chris Gillespie. He wrestled in the 170 lb. weight class. When asked what he did to prepare for state, he said he worked hard to perfect his technique and he wrestled hard all year long.
