SRO Swigart has completed our last quarterly ALICE training with all grade levels this week. What is ALICE? A: Alert, L: Lockdown, I: Inform, C:Counter, E: Evacuate. It is an active threat response tailored for age appropriate information. We are excited to offer a parent ALICE training at the beginning of the next school year. SRO Swigart is eager to meet everyone. Details regarding the date and time of the training will be shared in August. We deeply appreciate SRO Swigart's commitment to our Comet Family!

Please notify Mrs. Faller if your senior is receiving a scholarship by Tuesday, May 14th.

The Annual Alexander Comets Activities & Senior Scholarship Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:30pm in the old gym. The Activities Club will be hosting an ice cream sundae bar. Those honored will be coaches, athletes lettering in their sport, club participants, and senior scholarship recipients. Students have received an invitation.

Press release by Superintendent Bieber issued in today's McKenzie County Farmer: On Monday, April 15, 2024, an incident occurred within one classroom of the Alexander School. Inappropriate conduct by students occurred, that did impact the safety of other students in the room, while unfortunately, there appears to have been a lack of adequate adult supervision. Later that evening, I sent a statement out stating that at no time was there a threat to the safety of our students, faculty, or staff. I admit it was a poor choice of words. It was not my intent to diminish the impact on the students in the room or the conduct of other students. My intention was to convey that there was no ongoing threat to safety, based on response actions taken by the school and law enforcement earlier in the day. An individual has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into the concerns that a teacher failed to adequately supervise the classroom. The District takes all complaints against personnel and others in the building very seriously and follows applicable District policies and procedures when responding to and investigating complaints. The District wants all staff and students feeling safe and comfortable in our educational and working environments and encourages anyone with a concern about this or any matter to contact a school administrator. Ultimately, please know the District considers the safety of staff and students to be our utmost priority. We will continue to work hard to ensure a safe environment exists and wish to work with the community to make Alexander School better together.
