Student of Month
Our mass media class has started a Comet News Student of the Month this year. Students in elementary, middle school and high school are nominated by teachers and staff. Next week, eligibility will be starting. What this means is that any student failing one or more classes will not be allowed to participate in any extracurriculars.
How does eligibility work?
On Monday, a list will be generated of all students who have an F in any class. This is called the preliminary ineligible list. Students are notified and a message is sent home to parents. Students have until Tuesday at noon to turn in any missing or incomplete work, including tests.
Teachers will update any grades necessary by Wednesday morning at 9:00.
On Wednesday, a final list will be generated, any student with an F at that time will be ineligible until the next Wednesday and may not travel with their team. Parents and students are again notified.

**Urgently Hiring: Two First LEGO League (FLL) Coaches**
We are seeking two enthusiastic coaches for our First LEGO League (FLL) teams! FLL introduces students in grades 4-8 to the exciting world of science, technology, engineering, and math. Coaches will guide students through innovation projects, help code robots to complete missions, and teach core values essential to the program.
The season runs from September to approximately February, with two separate teams at Alexander. The coaching position offers a stipend of $1,398.30.

The Alexander CTE departments are looking for individuals interested in joint their advisory committee. This committee meets twice a year and is a critical component in offering quality CTE (agriculture, STEM, FACS, and counseling) courses to APS students.
