School Meal Programs ALERT! Supply Chain Issues Our school nutrition program is currently experiencing supply chain issues. Consequently, we are having trouble receiving menu ingredients from our food vendors. This is a nationwide problem, but we are working on several strategies to mitigate the impact on our students. We apologize to students who are experiencing last-minute menu changes. As we navigate this challenging time, we appreciate your patience and understanding. Please direct questions to Ms. Bieber or Ms. Elliot. Thank you for your continued support!

A few friendly reminders when your child is ill… Please do NOT send your child to school if he/she has had: 1. Fever more than 100 degrees within the last 24 hours (must be fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT medication) 2. Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours (without medication) 3. Continuous coughing not relieved with cough medicine Reminder: Alexander Public School has a policy in place regarding medication administration to students – Policy ACBD. A parent or guardian may provide prescribed and/or non-prescribed (over-the-counter) medication and request permission for school staff to administer during school hours. These forms are available in the office or on our school website under “medications”. A medication administration form must be completed. The medication needs to be in an unopened container (if over-the-counter) and brought in by a parent. We would greatly appreciate your assistance in preventing the spread of illness in our school. Please help us teach your children good health habits to protect themselves as well as others. In addition, follow yourself. 1. Plenty of rest and nutritious food are needed 2. Do not eat or drink from the same utensil or container after someone else 3. Keep hydrated by drinking a lot of heathy fluids (soda does not count) 4. When coughing or sneezing, cover the nose & mouth by coughing or sneezing into a tissue or in the bend of the elbow 5. Practice frequent hand washing with soap & water or hand sanitizer. This is the best way to prevent the spread of germs. Wash, wash, and wash those hands! Since students need to be picked up when they become ill at school, we need current telephone numbers. Please inform the school office of any changes. Thank you in advance for working with us to keep students and staff healthy and in school. Krista Heen, RN ~ Alexander Public School Nurse
