Our Mass Media class is now offering newspaper subscriptions, and this will allow extended family and friends — especially those out of state, to sign up and have the Comet Newspaper mailed right to their home. Girls Basketball Game Rescheduled:
Alexander vs DC has been rescheduled. We will play on Dec. 15th along with the boys here at home.

Due to hazardous road conditions and continued icy patches throughout the district, Alexander Public School will be closed today.
The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority, and current road reports indicate that travel would be unsafe this morning.

For the safety of our students and staff, Alexander Public School will operate on a two-hour late start today due to icy road conditions. School will begin at 10:00 AM.
🚌 Bus routes will also run two hours later than their normal pick-up times.
Please plan for pick-up to occur exactly two hours after your usual pick up time.
Please travel safely.

Reminder: Peanut and Tree Nut Policy
With birthdays and the holiday approaching, please remember that any treats brought into the classroom must be store-bought and properly labeled.
To ensure the safety of all students, we cannot accept any items with labels stating, “may have been processed in a facility with peanuts,” “may contain traces of peanuts,” or similar wording.
A couple suggestions for treats would be all items under the brand name "Sweet Pea", Oreos and rice Krispies. I have included the Approved Snack List.
Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for our students with allergies.

Notice Regarding Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD)
We have recently identified cases of Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease in both the elementary and high school. An informational sheet is included with notice.
In addition to HFMD, please consider the school’s exclusion guidelines when determining if your child should stay home from school due to illness:
School Exclusion Guidelines
Regardless of the illness, children should be excluded from school if they meet any of the following criteria:
🩺 The child is unwilling or unable to participate in normal school activities due to illness.
⚕️ Staff determine they cannot care for the ill child without compromising care for the rest of the students.
🩺 The child has a fever (100.5°F or higher) and symptoms such as difficulty breathing, behavioral changes, lethargy, irritability, persistent crying, or a progressive rash.
⚕️ The child has vomited two or more times in the past 24 hours, unless symptoms are clearly due to a non-communicable condition and the child can stay hydrated and participate in activities.
🩺 The child has diarrhea and cannot self-contain stool.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nurse Heen or the school office.
