We apologize if you did not receive a phone call at 530 this morning concerning the late start, only a text message was sent out by error. We understand how ever that some did not receive any message. There are two possible reasons why the message did not go thru. 1. Your phone carrier flagged the call as spam. 2. We continue to see a high number of students who are ill, and several students were sent home today due to illness.

Reminder: If your child is sent home sick, they may NOT return to school for a full 24 hours and only if all symptoms have completely resolved.

To help protect the health of all students and staff, please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

🌡️ Fever (100.4°F or higher)
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea
😷 Persistent cough or sore throat
🩹 Rash accompanied by fever
🦠 Any symptoms suggestive of a contagious illness

We appreciate your cooperation and partnership in keeping our school healthy.

Comet Families,

We are currently experiencing a significant increase in illness within our school and surrounding community. Several students were absent all last week. Reports include Influenza, COVID-19, strep throat, and other viral and bacterial illnesses, all of which can spread quickly in a classroom setting.

Please keep in mind that an illness that may seem minor for one child can have a serious impact on another. For this reason, we kindly but firmly ask for your cooperation in keeping your child home if they are not feeling well.

Students should be fever-free for at least 24 hours WITHOUT the use of fever-reducing medication, with improvement of symptoms, before returning to school. Please do NOT give your child medication prior to coming to school. If your child is sent home sick, they will NOT be able to return to school for 24 hours. This will be monitored and adhered to.

Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following:

🌡️ Fever (100.4°F or higher)
🤢 Vomiting or diarrhea
😷 Persistent cough or sore throat
🩹 Rash accompanied by fever
🦠 Any symptoms suggestive of a contagious illness

WHEN IN DOUBT, KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME!

We understand that this may be inconvenient at times; however, keeping sick children home is a courtesy to your child, their classmates, and our staff. This not only supports a quicker recovery for your child but also helps prevent further spread of illness throughout our school community.

It is our responsibility to provide a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and staff, and we cannot do so without your continued partnership.

Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation during what is a challenging time for staff, students, and families alike.

Influenza B is beginning to increase in the Williston area, and we anticipate this trend to continue over the next two to three weeks.

We appreciate everything you do to help keep our school community healthy.

Sincerely,

Krista Heen, RN

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our school is currently seeing a significant increase in illnesses, including fever, body aches, headaches, and stomach flu symptoms. To help keep our students and staff healthy, we need your support in preventing the spread of these illnesses.

Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following:
• Fever
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Severe body aches or headaches

Children must be fever‑free and free of vomiting or diarrhea for a full 24 hours without the use of medications such as Tylenol or ibuprofen before returning to school. These medications can temporarily reduce symptoms, but they do not prevent a child from still being contagious.

If your child is sent home from school due to these symptoms, they must remain home until they have been symptom‑free for 24 hours before returning.

Your cooperation helps protect the health of all students and staff. Thank you for your attention and support.
