Alexander Public School learned of a reported potential threat in the Surrey School District. The Surrey Police Department has looked into the matter and has determined that there is no threat to the safety of students, staff, or the community.
Out of an abundance of caution, the Alexander Public School Resource Officer with the McKenzie County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed this information directly with local authorities in Surrey. As our students will be traveling to Surrey tomorrow evening for athletic competition, we want to reassure our families and community members that the situation has been reviewed and cleared.
To provide additional reassurance, there will be increased police presence by local authorities at the game tomorrow evening.
The safety of our students, staff, and school community is always our highest priority. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement to maintain safe and secure environments both at home and during school-sponsored activities.

There have been some changes to the upcoming Junior High football schedule.
The game originally scheduled for Monday, Sept. 22 at Nedrose has been cancelled.
Two games have been added to the schedule:

Monday, Oct. 6 – Home vs. Grenora, 5:30 PM (CT)

5th and 6th Grade Tackle Football and 1st -4th Grade Flag Football are canceled for tonight, September 18th. If your child normally rides a bus, that is how they will be sent home.
If your child will be attending High-5 or FIT this Friday, the signed form must be turned in to the school no later than Thursday, September 17th for them to participate.
