Congratulations to Drew LeBrun, Dylan Schooley, and Bochelle Taylor for receiving Student of the Month! Drew Lebrun (8th grade) is a leader but when needed can also take on any role that is required within a group. Drew is respectful, kind, thoughtful and is a great role model for his peers. He has great work ethic, attitude and always participates in class. He is always willing to go the extra mile to help others. Drew does not hesitate to take the initiative to complete something that is not asked of him. He takes responsibility, not only for himself, but sometimes for others. Finally, Drew is accepting of all students, no matter their ability, race, or background Dylan Schooley (10th grade) strives to better himself as a person. He is an extremely hard worker. He is a very positive, kind, and helpful person. He is always willing to help others, even without being asked. He strives to better himself and his community, regardless of who is watching. Dylan is known for his smile and has a winning attitude. Over the course of the last month, Bochelle Tayler (12th grade), (Bo) has displayed all of the qualities we look for in a student of the month. Since the beginning of the year Bo’s grades have steadily improved, she has become more conscientious about her studies and appears to be striving towards academic improvement. Bo is always a pleasure to have in class as she is always well behaved and for the most part on task. She has stepped up her game recently and is now helping other students stay on task by providing her peers with redirection when needed. This leadership has been very much needed and is very much appreciated by her teachers and other students. All of these attributes make Bo a worthy recipient of this honor and is consistent with the mission and values of Alexander Public School.

On Friday the 20th our youth wrestlers participated in a duel at WSC but did not have enough to make our team so we combined with some Bismarck wrestlers as well as some from Williston. Our team didn't place in the duel but the kids wrestled hard and got to meet some new people. Saturday we had 15 that participated and went home with 8 metals, for some this was their first tournament. In the PK division Clay Getzlaff took home 3rd. Kindergarten and first grade division Carson Getzlaff with 1st and Jace O'Brien with 1st also. For second and third grade division Evan Rykhus with 1st, Corey Getzlaff with 2nd, Jacob Novak with 3rd, and Rope Simonson with 4th. Fifth grade division Zack Carter took 3rd. Our next duel is in Alexander against Williston Coyotes on Feb 2nd from 7-9. We hope to see everyone there!
