With the upcoming winter season and potential impending weather, it is helpful to understand our protocol and process for making weather-related decisions for school. Our communications plan is, whenever possible, to inform families by 9:00 pm the preceding night or by 6:00 am on the morning of the event. A weather based decision includes information from the National Weather Service, discussions with contacts (bus service, other superintendents, law enforcement, road crews, etc.) and ND DOT road maps to gather the best possible assessment on the weather and conditions. If there is a no travel advisory, school will be at minimum delayed or canceled. Our transportation drivers know their roads the best and are included in the decision pertaining to bus routes. Student and staff safety is our #1 priority. Please contact Ms. Bieber with any questions or concerns.
There is an Alexander School Board Finance Committee Meeting tonight, 11/09/2022,at 6:00pm at the Alexander School.
Junior Parents, the meeting scheduled for tonight will be canceled due to illness in the building. Mrs. Severson will be sending out an email to you with a link so that you can sign up for donations for the Christmas Stroll fundraiser. The juniors were hoping to make chili and cinnamon rolls, so we will need items to contribute to that. If you have any questions please contact the junior class advisor, Mrs. Severson.
Dear parents, We have had a steady stream of students going home sick today, approximately 4% of the student body. Symptoms include a headache but no fever, stomach pain, and vomiting. Please keep kids home if they are ill. We hope this bug leaves the building soon!
Good evening Comet families, friendly reminder that students must have a winter coat to ride the bus. Also, students who have classes in the ag building must have a coat as well. If students need assistance to acquire a coat please contact Mrs. Faller or Mr. Allard. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Good afternoon Comet families, the winter weather is upon us. Next week the temperatures will be much colder than previous weeks. At Alexander Public School students go outside for recess as much as possible therefore students must dress appropriately for the winter weather. This includes hats, gloves, winter boots, winter coat and snow pants.
**Bus students MUST have winter gear on to board the bus. If they do not, they will not be allowed to ride the bus.

Trunk or Treat

In collaboration with McKenzie County Sheriff's Department, Alexander Public School is lifting the lockdown as law enforcement has deemed no threat to our students or staff. Regional schools received an active shooter threat therefore all schools in the regional area reacted with safety protocol. Other law enforcement agencies and schools in the state of ND and surrounding states have received similar threats. APS will continue in a proactive manner for the remainder of the school day. We are thankful for the collaboration with SRO Swigart and the McKenzie County Sheriff's Department for keeping our students and staff safety as a #1 priority!
Good afternoon Comet families, earlier today we received information about a potential active threat in the region, therefore we as a school are taking precautions to ensure our students are safe. As soon as we have more information, you will be notified.
