Buses will run a modified schedule.
Breakfast and lunch will be served for students at regular cost.
* Meals will be made according to the # of students signed up for Hi-5 League. If a student does not sign up but comes to Hi-5 League, lunch/breakfast cannot be guaranteed.*

Varsity Football News/ Updates
*No Varsity football this Friday, Aug. 27th vs. Parshall
* NOTE- SCHEDULE CHANGE:
due to issues with officials, our game in Tioga on Friday, Sept. 3rd will be at 8:00 p.m.
The comets have their first Varsity football game tonight!
It will be at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City vs MLS. Concessions will be served which include hamburgers and hot dogs.
Game time is 7pm
We hope to see a good crowd

There will be practice changes for flag football.
1st & 2nd will be practicing on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Tuesday the 24th!
3rd & 4th will be practicing on Mondays and Wednesdays starting Monday the 23rd! (If any 4th grade tackle football players are interested they can come to practices on Wednesdays)
Sign up sheets will be sent home with students today.
Please fill them out and return them to the school as soon as possible.

Attention 7th-12th grade football parents
There will be a parent meeting this Thursday the 12th at 8pm in the commons area.
Tomorrow, August 10, 2021 at 7:00pm, is the Alexander Public School Board Regular Meeting at the Alexander School. You are invited to attend the board meeting and public forum to discuss teacher and staff professional development and ESSER III application of federal funds. Your input is welcome and appreciated.

Alexander Public School's first day is Tuesday Aug. 17th. This will include all grades, Preschool - 12. Someone will be contacting PK parents to let them know which days their students will attend.
We were notified that a patron who attended school registration on Monday has since tested positive with COVID-19. You may potentially be a close contact, if you have concerns and would like further information please contact the school and ask for Mrs. Faller.
There is a Special Board Meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30am at Alexander Public School. Agenda item is approval of the 2019 and 2020 financial audits.
High School Parents - As we prepare to return to school, there are some items we want to remind you and your student of.
1. Students will required to use a school device. Students may not use personal devices at school.
2. Water bottles are allowed at school but they must be clear or opaque.
3. Students will be provided their locker number at the Back to School BBQ or right way on the first day of school, along with a fresh copy of their schedule.
4. Students are allowed 8 absences per semester, students who are absent more than 8 times they may lose credit or be retained. We offer restitution in those situations when possible.
5. Medical absences can be forgiven with a doctor’s note provided within a week’s time of the appointment.
6. Dress Code
a. Head coverings are not permitted. Head coverings for religious or medical reasons must be approved by the principal
b. Shirts/tops must cover most areas with no visible gaps; no crop tops nor cutoff (midriff) tops
c. Coats & jackets should be removed.
d. Shorts may be worn and be mid-thigh length. Our general rule of thumb is fingertip length.
e. Footwear must be worn and be clean. Street shoes are not to be worn on the gym floor.
f. Written or pictorial messages on clothing/accessories are not permitted if they are vulgar, gang related, promote tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs, belittle any race, religion, nationality or gender.

Attention parents of 7-12th grade athletes:
Sanford Health will be hosting a sports physical clinic at the Alexander Public School for all 7-12th grade athletes. An annual sports physical is required to participate in sports.
Sports Physical Clinic is Thursday, July 29th from 5-7pm at Alexander Public School. Check in at the Commons Area with Nurse Heen. The cost is $40 cash per athlete at the time of the physical.
If a parent would like a more in-depth physical which includes immunizations, you can schedule a Back To School Physical/Annual Physical which is run through insurance. You can make an appointment at the clinic by calling 701-566-7302. Sanford Health in Watford City has two pediatricians' available with openings M-F 8AM to 5PM.
