The following is the 2020 District Volleyball Tournament bracket.

NDHSAA Volleyball Playoff Restrictions: The North Dakota High School Athletic Association has issued their postseason attendance protocols based on each county's risk level. Since McKenzie County is in ORANGE, the following will be the restrictions when we host tournament games in Alexander: -Tickets will NOT be available to the general public. -Two tickets per participant will be given to the HOME and AWAY teams. -Masks are required for all fans. *Alexander will stream their games live on the Alexander Public School Facebook page.

Attention Comet Volleyball Fans: It is a District 16 decision that due to COVID-19, this year's District 16 Volleyball Tournament be held at the site of the higher seed. The dates will remain the same: October 29, 30 and November 2. Our first game will be held in Alexander. We will play New Town at 6:00 p.m. on October 29th.

Join us in celebrating with the Spildies as Mrs. Spildie rings the bell ate her last cancer treatment!

As we enter 2nd quarter, it is time for parent-teacher conferences. Teachers will be reaching out to schedule conferences. All conferences will be held virtually using Google Meet, Zoom or a simple phone call. If you have questions regarding parent-teacher conferences reach out to your child's teacher or Mrs. Faller. As you know, the first quarter has been completed which means it is time for parent-teacher conferences. All conferences will occur through either Google Meet or a phone call; all Google Meet codes will be posted on our website. PTC Fast will be used to schedule conferences with teachers. Conferences will be held on October 27th and 28th, starting at 4:00 p.m. They will end at 7:00 p.m. each night. If you do not have internet, please reach out to the teacher(s) you would like to talk with to schedule a phone call using 701-828-3334. The website to use for scheduling your conferences is: https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Alexander_Public_School. You will need to schedule a conference for each teacher you wish to speak to. If you have any questions regarding conferences, please reach out to Mrs. Faller, Mr. Allard or the individual teacher.

Good morning Comet families, Just a reminder that students need to have a coat, hat, gloves and warm boots for outside. It’s going to be a chilly week and we go outside even when it’s cold. Happy Monday!

Reminder that the flu clinic will be this Wednesday, October 21st, for students and staff. Forms need to be returned to the office no later than Tuesday, October 20th. If you have questions or need a form, please contact the office.

Tonight's volleyball matches will start at 6:00 p.m. with junior high matches followed by the varsity match at 7:00 p.m.

Tonight for the volleyball match against Trenton, Alexander Public School will be implementing measures to limit the number of individuals in the building. When you enter the building look for signs that will indicate seating for our visitors and guests. Guests of Alexander players are asked to sit together and socially distance from other cohorts. Trenton was provided vouchers for admittance to the matches. This is only a reservation for the seat and admission will be collected at the door. Junior high families are asked to limit their guests to two adults per player. We ask that junior high players and guests, only stay for the junior high match. Thank you for your attention to these details. We appreciate the effort and support of our Alexander families.

Alexander Public School will be hosting its annual flu shot clinic for students and staff on Wednesday Oct 21st. The forms were sent home with students today. If interested, please return completed forms and payment, if applicable, to the school by Monday Oct 19.

As many of you may have seen, today it was snowing. Please be sure your children have the appropriate clothing when coming to school as is it chilly in the morning and at lunch recess. We will continue to be outside as much as possible for recess and PE classes.

Picture retakes are scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20th starting at 8am. TRP Studios Retake Policy: If you are not satisfied with your portraits, a second sitting can be done on the scheduled retake day. There is a $10.00 fee for retakes due to: expressions, hair, clothing, eye glass or dental changes. Please be sure to return your complete package along with the insert and the $10 fee, if required, directly to the photographer on retake day.

3rd-4th Grade Flag Football Playoffs are Saturday, October 17th. Alexanders first game starts at 10:30am at Western Star Park, Field 2. Students need to be at the field by 10am. Bracket is linked below. https://5il.co/m67e

There will be a virtual financial aide bootcamp for senior and parents on Oct 20 & 21st. It will help with the application process for financial aide. If you are interested please contact Ms Hansel.

Good morning Comet families, If your child is in quarantine, either due to testing positive for COVID-19 or being a close contact, they are REQUIRED to check in with their teachers through Google Meet. All teachers have Google Meet set up and students have accessed them while in school. The students know how to use the platform. If they do not attend their Google Meet or contact the teacher, they will be marked absent for that class. Please address any questions to Mrs. Faller or Mr. Allard.

The JH volleyball game scheduled for tonight, Oct 12th has been rescheduled for Friday Oct 16th. More information on the schedule change will be provided this week.
