Dear Parents and Staff,
Due to current road and weather conditions, Alexander Public School will have a late start tomorrow. School will begin at 10:00 AM and follow a shortened schedule for the day.
Please ensure your students are dressed appropriately for the weather.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff.
Sincerely,

A few friendly reminders when your child is ill…
Please do NOT send your child to school if he/she has had:
1. Fever more than 100.4 degrees within the last 24 hours (must be fever free for 24 hours WITHOUT medication)
2. Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours (without medication)
3. Continuous coughing not relieved with cough medicine
Reminder:
Alexander Public School has a policy in place regarding medication administration to students – Policy ACBD. A parent or guardian may provide prescribed and/or non-prescribed (over-the-counter) medication and request permission for school staff to administer during school hours. These forms are available in the office or on our school website under “medications”. A medication administration form must be completed. The medication needs to be in an unopened container (if over-the-counter) and brought in by a parent.
We would greatly appreciate your assistance in preventing the spread of illness in our school. Please help us teach your children good health habits to protect themselves as well as others. In addition, follow yourself.
1. Plenty of rest and nutritious food are needed
2. Do not eat or drink from the same utensil or container after someone else
3. Keep hydrated by drinking a lot of heathy fluids (soda does not count)
4. When coughing or sneezing, cover the nose & mouth by coughing or sneezing into a tissue or in the bend of the elbow
5. Practice frequent hand washing with soap & water or hand sanitizer. This is the best way to prevent the spread of germs. Wash, wash, and wash those hands!
Since students need to be picked up when they become ill at school, we need current telephone numbers. Please inform the school office of any changes.
Thank you in advance for working with us to keep students and staff healthy and in school.

Alexander Public School Nurse

Good evening, as we have entered our cold weather season this is a friendly reminder that students who ride the bus MUST have appropriate clothing to ride the bus to and from school. Elementary students also must have appropriate clothing to go out for recess, including hats and gloves. A sweatshirt is not sufficient for our winter weather. If your child is in need of winter weather gear, please contact their teacher or principal and we can help you out.
